「音樂天才」、「時尚革命者」、「嘻哈英雄」Kanye West的第二彈《Late Registration》在樂壇果然掀起如卡崔娜颶風的強大風暴，專輯一上架就造成搶購，目前估價週銷售落在80萬-90萬，在滾石雜誌義無反顧給予五顆星滿分評價後，勢必是今年最強勢的專輯之一。不過，即便自己已經在市場呼嘯，Kanye卻按耐不住對美國總統布希的不爽，週五晚間他參加NBC電視台現場直播的「A Concert for Hurricane Relief」演唱晚會上便脫稿演出，在節目進行三分之二時，強力批評美國總統布希「一點都不在乎黑人」，突如其來的言論讓一旁的諧星Mike Myers一臉錯愕，Kanye很有魄力的對著鏡頭質問，他說，「我不喜歡媒體描述黑人的方式，報導黑人家庭就是在搶劫，換作白人卻是在找食物。」Kanye還對布希政府緩慢的救災行為感冒，也不滿政府竟授權開槍射擊人民等作為。當然這樣的言論看在NBC電視台眼中自然急忙澄清，這僅是Kanye個人的立場，和電視台沒有關聯。

姑且不論Kanye言論還會引發怎樣的效應，我們回歸音樂。新專輯繼〈Diamonds From Sierra Leone〉後的最新主打歌〈Gold Digger〉MV請來大師Hype Williams操刀，加上奧斯卡影帝Jamie Foxx加持與Kanye West的子弟兵John Legnd的插花，可說是一首相當成功的視覺作品；歌曲取樣了雷查爾斯的作品，一開頭歌詞提到「She take my money when I'm in need」，如果我們在搜尋打這兩句歌詞和Ray Charles的名字當成關鍵字的話，〈Gold Digger〉取樣的正是Ray的經典名曲〈I Got a Woman〉。

提到Jamie Foxx，先前就在Twista的全美冠軍名曲〈Slow Jamz 〉和Kanye合作【註：該曲還取樣了Luther Vandross的名曲〈A House Is Not A Home〉，後面有個女聲在那喂來喂去就是原曲路瑟也有小喂一下】，兩人在上月的MTV音樂獎上也同台演唱〈Gold Digger〉，Jamie還裸露他的胸肌，一時成為話題，不過這露胸肌的把戲在Jamie演出的電影『機戰未來』就展現過了。妙的是，這首歌歌詞有很多精采之處，就連J Lo和Usher都列名其中，究竟有什麼意涵呢？大家聽聽看吧。
